Our mission

OzLottoVault exists to make lottery-related statistics and probability accessible. We publish original, research-backed articles that explain how odds work, why common misconceptions persist, and how to approach games of chance with informed expectations.

Our editorial focus is educational. We cover probability theory, cognitive biases, expected value, randomness, and responsible play — topics that are relevant far beyond lotteries, but that lottery participation makes especially tangible.

What we do

What we do not do

  • We do not provide predictions, "winning systems", or number-picking strategies
  • We do not partner with, promote, or receive compensation from lottery operators or gambling companies
  • We do not run advertising, affiliate programmes, or paid placements

Why we built this

Lottery products are part of Australian life. Millions of people participate every year, yet public understanding of the underlying mathematics is generally low. Misconceptions about "overdue numbers", "hot streaks", and predictive patterns are widespread, and they can lead to unrealistic expectations and poor spending decisions.

We saw a gap: there was no dedicated, independent resource that combined rigorous probability education with responsible play guidance in an accessible, well-designed format. OzLottoVault is our attempt to fill that gap.
